Life and Care in Goose Creek
Goose Creek's industrial base includes an aluminum smelter with about 600 employees that announced 150 more jobs in 2026. Manufacturing work demands steady focus and attention to detail, which untreated ADHD can make harder.
Goose Creek, the largest city in Berkeley County, grew from about 36,000 residents in 2010 to an estimated 52,000 in 2025. Fast growth brings new neighbors, heavier traffic and rising costs, and many people are building their support networks from scratch.
Goose Creek is home to most of Naval Support Activity Charleston, including the Navy's Nuclear Power Training Command.
Goose Creek's economy centers on the military and metals manufacturing.
How ADHD Evaluation and Treatment Works
Your first visit is a full evaluation by secure video. Your provider reviews your symptoms, your history back to childhood, how attention problems affect your work and home life, and other conditions that can look like ADHD, such as anxiety, depression and poor sleep.
If you have not completed a formal ADHD evaluation or testing before, our practice requires objective ADHD testing before ADHD treatment can begin. The testing is a separate computerized assessment of the three core symptoms of ADHD: attention, activity and impulsivity. It is completed online as part of your evaluation, usually before your virtual visit with your provider, on a third-party, web-based, FDA-cleared ADHD assessment platform. It gives your provider objective data from validated testing to aid the diagnosis, but on its own it is not enough to diagnose ADHD. ADHD testing is self-pay and not covered by insurance; our front desk will tell you the cost when you schedule. Your visits with your provider may be billed to your insurance according to your plan benefits.
Treatment is built with you and can include medication when clinically appropriate, counseling for organization and coping strategies, and regular follow-up.
