Online ADHD Medication for Adults in South Carolina

Expert care from board-certified providers — from anywhere in South Carolina via secure telehealth.

Adult ADHD Evaluation and Medication — From Home

If you suspect you have ADHD as an adult, getting evaluated should not require months of waiting. Hope Behavioral Medicine provides comprehensive ADHD evaluations and medication management via secure telehealth to adults across all of South Carolina. Our board-certified psychiatric providers specialize in adult ADHD — they understand how it presents differently than in children and have the diagnostic expertise to distinguish ADHD from anxiety, depression, and other conditions that can mimic its symptoms.

Your first telehealth evaluation is a thorough 45-60 minute assessment. Your provider reviews your symptom history (including childhood patterns), uses validated screening tools, assesses for co-occurring conditions, and arrives at a clear diagnostic formulation before discussing medication options. This is not a quick checklist — it is the same comprehensive evaluation you would receive in our West Ashley office.

Medication Options via Telehealth

Our providers prescribe both stimulant medications (methylphenidate and amphetamine classes) and non-stimulant alternatives (atomoxetine, bupropion, guanfacine). The choice depends on your symptom profile, medical history, lifestyle, and preferences. We start at the lowest effective dose and titrate carefully, with monthly follow-up visits during the optimization phase.

Controlled Substance Prescribing via Telehealth

Stimulant medications for ADHD are classified as controlled substances. South Carolina law permits telehealth prescribing of stimulant medications after a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation conducted via video. However, DEA regulations and state prescribing guidelines may require periodic in-person evaluations for patients receiving ongoing stimulant prescriptions. Your provider will discuss the specific requirements during your first visit and work with you to find a practical arrangement — especially if you live far from our West Ashley office. Non-stimulant ADHD medications can be managed entirely via telehealth without in-person requirements.
